Project 02
Geralta
Resort
Overview
Architecture in dialogue with dramatic natural landscape.
The Geralta Resort is an architectural design set against the striking rock formations and highland terrain of the Geralta region. The design draws directly from the landscape — responding to topography, climate, and local material culture — to create a resort experience that feels both rooted in place and architecturally distinctive.
The architectural language takes cues from vernacular building traditions of the Tigray region, reinterpreting traditional forms and materials through a contemporary lens. Stone, timber, and earthen tones anchor the design visually and materially to its context, while spatial sequencing creates a journey from arrival through to intimate retreat.
Extensive 3D visualization work was developed to communicate the relationship between built form and landscape, capturing the quality of light, materiality, and spatial experience across different times of day and vantage points.
